Software delivery
How can I get the XPhone Entry SW
XPhone Entry SW is only delivered in a bundle with a new HiPath platform. Starting with HiPath 2000 and 3000, Hipath 500, 1100, 1200 and BizIP will follow.
Why is the XPhone Entry software not separately availabe on CD?
It is the intention to offer a value add to HiPath customers by bundling a cost free CTI Software together with the platforms.
Can I get the software also for existing platforms?
No, the software is only available for new ordered platforms. For existing platforms XPhone Standard is available on CD for sale.
Licensing
Does XPhone Entry require a license?
No for the operation of XPhonen Entry no licenses is required - but the underlaying TAPI Service provider may require a license.
TAPI Service Provider
Which TAPI Service Providers are supported?
Only the following HiPath TAPI Service providers are supported.
- HiPath TAPI 120/170
- Callbride Collection
- HiPath 1000 TAPI Service provider
This limitation only apply to XPhonen Enzry and not to XPhone Standard or XPhone Corporate.
Is CAP supported?
No, Xphone Entry will not work together with CAP.

Are TAPI party service providers of other manufactures supported?
No, XPhone Entry will only work together with these TAPI service providers.

How can I get the TAPI service providers?
HiPath TAPI 120 and Callbridge Collection are delivered on the XPhone Entry CD. Hipath TAPI 170 has to be ordered separateley. The TAPI providers for HiPath 1100, 1200 and BizIP are delivered on the system CD.
Updates of the TAPI Service Providers can be downloaded by registered partners from the Software Supply Server via Siemens Entreprise Business Area Partner portal (SEBA, login required).
How can I connect Callbridge Collection with HiPath 500?
Within the Callbride Collection settings HiPath 500 does not appear in the drop down menue. Select HiPath 3000 instead and it will work.
Operating Systems
Is Microsoft Vista supported?
XPhone Entry itselfs is supported by Microsoft Vista. The underlaying TAPI Service Providers are currently not all supported by Microsoft Vista.
For further informations the release notes of the TAPI service providers or of Hipath 1100/1200 and BizIP have to be checked. Updated informations can be obtained by registered partners via Siemens Entreprise Business Area Partner portal (SEBA, login required).
Groupware and databases
Is Microsoft Outlook supported?
No, Microsoft Outlook Intergration is not supported by XPhone Entry. An upgrade to XPhone Standard is necessary.
Is Lotus Notes supported?
No, Lotus Notes Intergration is not supported by XPhone Entry. An upgrade to XPhone Standard is required
Which databases can be connected as address books?
XPhone Entry suports only one internal address book. For connection of additional databases like Outlook contacts or LDAP based directories an upgrde to XPhone standard is required.
SW Update
How to update the XPhone Entry SW
The SW can be updated directly out of the programm by chosing the menue "SW update". XPhone Entry compares the installed with the latest version and will offer an update if a newer version is available. The update requires an Internet access.
Software Upgrade
How can I upgrade to XPhone Standard?
If XPhone Entry is already installed the upgrade can be done directly out of the user interface.
Therefore the license key for XPhone Standard has to be typed in. Afterards the XPhone Standard featurset incl theh Outlook AddOn is available. If the XPhone Standard license its not available it has has to be ordered before. For every Client PC a dedicated XPhone Standard license key is required
If the Lotus Notes Add-on for Xphone Standard is also required the SW has to be downloaded from the internet site of the XPhone manufacturer C4B Com For Business and has to be installed on the PC.
