Implementation and Networking Scenarios
Collaboration with VoIP Providers
HiPath Platforms have been tested with a large number of Internet telephony providers that support SIP. At the moment, there are differences in the range of features supported, reachable networks, and service quality offered by the various providers. Occasionally configuration changes may occur that require adjustments to be made to the HiPath Platforms.
Networking Scenarios
- Networking via ISDN
All HiPath 3000 systems can be internetworked and also be networked with Hicom 112/118 (from V2.0.2), Hicom 200 (from V3.2), Hicom 150 E/H (from V1.0), or Hicom 300 (from V3.4) using digital trunks. S0 and S2M lines can be used for the connection.
- Networking via CorNet-IP
IP networking transfers CorNet-N, CorNet-NQ, and CorNet-IP specific features over the IP network. The range of CorNet-NQ and CorNet-IP functions is the same.
- Features of HiPath 3000 and HiPath 2000 Networking
In the case of IP networking, the CorNet-IP specific features are transmitted over the IP network. The scope of features of the HiPath 2000 V2 and HiPath 3000 V7 are absolutely identical in a network using the CorNet-IP protocol.
Within an IP trunking connection, a HiPath 2000 V2 node behaves identically to a HiPath 3000 V7 node.
- Features of a HiPath 3000 Network with HiPath 4000
The following features are supported in a network with HiPath 4000 V2.0/V3.0/4:
- Basic procedures for supporting CorNet-NQ
- Classes of service
- Call offer[1]
- Call waiting[1]
- Name display (caller, connected, busy party)
- Call forwarding
- Rerouting[2]
- Hold/consultation hold/toggle
- Conference
- Fast forwarding[1]
- Call intrusion[1]
- Station number display (caller, connected party)
- Caller identification suppression or name suppression
- Call forwarding busy / no reply
- Advice of charge
- Screened and unscreened transfer
- Automatic recall[1]
- Emergency call (only relevant for USA)[1]
- Message Waiting Indication
- Central BLF signaling for optiClient Attendant[2]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 The features were already enhanced in HiPath 3000/5000 V5.0 (compared with CorNet-N networking)
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Path replacement takes place solely within the TDM connection to the gateways. IP payload flows should always be viewed end to end within HiPath 3000 and HiPath 5000 networks.
- Small Remote Site Concept with HiPath 4000
From V5.0, the HiPath 3000 can be connected to the HiPath 4000 (V2.0 or higher) as a survival node using the "Small Remote Site" feature. This functionality guarantees the low cost failure tolerance of IP workpoints.
In normal mode, the IP workpoint clients are registered with the HiPath 4000 system. Calls coming in over the trunk connection of a HiPath 3000 system are routed over the IP network, first to the HiPath 4000 system and then on to the required subscriber.
- E&M Operation
The E&M board is available on HiPath 3800 for a connection to international leased lines, analog networks, or for networks with EVU systems. The line connection can be made for the 2 or 4 wire speech path. The 2 wire variant (E&M) and the 4 wire variant (E&M plus ground) are available for signaling. The E&M procedure is used for dialing stations directly.
- Satellite PABX Capability
The HiPath 3000 systems can be connected to an existing telecommunications system using analog trunks as a second private branch exchange. DTMF or dial pulses are used as a signaling method. Signaling in the main PABX is exclusively performed by flash for consultation hold or transfer. Ground is not used.
