The Top 5 New Features when using the HiPath OpenOffice ME Minor Release 3:

Professional Announcements and Greetings for Your Callers
What is it?
- Professional Announcements: Play company announcements when a caller is in a waiting loop. When the next employee is available, the call will immediately be forwarded.
- Professional Greetings: Import professionally recorded greetings via the WEB admin and use them with your personal mailbox or for your company AutoAttendant.
Why should you care?
- Market Yourself: Announcements allow you to inform the caller about news, events, directions, or any other important pieces of information you would like to share.
- Keep the Caller Occupied: Even when your caller is on hold, they can be listening to valuable information about your company.
- Handle Calls Like a Large Company: Professionally recorded greetings and announcements can make your company look like the ‘big guys’.
Permanent Dial-in Conference Bridge
What is it?
A permanent phone number for creating spontaneous MeetMe conference calls.
Why should you care?
- Easier Conference Set-up: No more separate conference call numbers for each meeting. One number is all you need to start a conference quickly and collaborate with colleagues immediately.
- No Time Limits: The conference call session can last as long as you need it to.
myPortal and Outlook Calendar Synch
What is it?
When Outlook is active, myPortal will update your Outlook calendar automatically. Any presence status change you make via phone or manually via myPortal will create a new calendar entry that will display your new status and start/end time of your activity.
For example:
You change your presence status to Meeting. The meeting will be for one hour starting at 10 AM. This will automatically create an Outlook calendar entry starting at 10 AM and ending at 11 AM with the word Meeting in the subject header.
Why should you care?
- Type it Once: No more manually synching your Outlook calendar and myPortal. Enter your activity once in myPortal and your Outlook calendar will also be set. This saves you time.
More Support for Desksharing
What is it?
Desksharers are mobile staff who do not have a permanent desk assigned to them. HiPath OpenOffice supports desksharing even more by allowing each desksharer user to have their own myPortal environment.
Why should you care?
- Privacy: Each desksharer user will have their own personal login information. Messages are only for their eyes and ears.
- HiPath OpenOffice Keeps Working Even When You’re Not: Even when your office phone or PC is temporarily ‘switched off’, HiPath OpenOffice myPortal will keep performing the following for you:
- Callers will hear the right announcements according to their stored status information.
- Individually set status based call forwarding rules will still be active.
- When a voice message is left, you will still receive an e-mail, a call, or SMS notification (if you set this up in your rules).
Optimized Handling of Group Voicemail
What is it?
New group voicemails will be displayed to each group member. After one member listens to a group voicemail, the message will automatically be moved into the ‘retrieved messages’ folder of ALL group members.
Why should you care?
- Minimized Administration: A moved message indicates that the request or news has been addressed or is in the process of being addressed by of one of your group members. This will ensure that only one member takes action; avoiding a situation where two or more people start work on the same message.
Additional Features and Improvements
- Call Back List: The Call Back List logs all missed incoming and outgoing calls. View all unanswered calls in one place.
- Programmable Speed Dial Keys for Desktop Phones: This can now be done via myPortal, myPortal Outlook Plug-in, and myAttendant Console.
- Caller Names Displayed: LDAP connected phone directories will be included in the search loop for incoming calls. This means if a matching name for the DLI number will be found, the caller name will be displayed instead of a number.
- Dial by Name or Extension for AutoAttendant: Two pre-defined rules have been added to AutoAttendant. This simplifies the configuration for dial by name or extension
- Voicemail Callback: After listening to a voicemail, users can immediately dial out to that same caller.
- Urgent Messages: If a voicemail is marked as urgent, the related voicemail that comes as an e-mail will be marked as urgent too.
- Simplified Fax Messaging: Sending faxes via myPortal has been simplified. In addition, users will receive a message that indicates whether or not the fax was sent out successfully.
