Overview

myPortal entry Web Services is a user-friendly Unified Communications entry solution for small companies that offers full mobility, presence status functionality, CTI, call journals, directory access and voicemail query, both at your office workplace and on your cell phone at any location

Remark: The informations within this Wiki refer to the myPortal entry Web Services version V2R0. Higher versions may differ from this description.

User interfaces (clients)

The services available with this solution come with two different user interfaces that are perfectly tuned to the working environment in which they are applied. Mobile employees access the Unified Communications services via myPortal web, which offers a display that is optimized for smartphone use. Office employees, on the other hand, benefit from the myPortal entry desktop client based on the latest Widget technology.

Functional Requirements and Boundaries

LAN / Internet Router

The Internet router should support Network Address Translation (NAT), Port Forwarding and DynDNS, for DSL connections without a static IP address,

Requirements to mobile networks

For the operation of myPortal web the data and voice channel of the mobile network are used in parallel. Therfore the combination of EDGE, UMTS and HSPDA can be used without restrictions. GPRS can only be recommended if the mobile device supports GPRS class A. The GSM/CSD network cannot be used.

Connection of Telecommunication Platforms

Connection to HiPath 500 or connection via LIM

The maximum number of myPortal web/entry clients is limited by the BHCA values. 400 BHCA may not be exceeded.

Connection via HG 1500

The maximum number of myPortal web/entry clients using the HG 1500 module is limited by the BHCA values. 1200 BHCA may not be exceeded.

Connection to PSTN - B-Channel use.

Connection of telecommunication platform to WAN is done by ISDN trunks. Every connection of a mobile phone using callback or callthrough seizes two B-Channels.

Software Delivery

myPortal entry Web Services are delivered preinstalled on the plug PC. Together with the Plug PC a CD with SW and documentation is delivered for depositon at customer premesis.

The CD contains:

It cannot be ordered separately. For service purposes following SW components can be downloaded using the Software Supply Server or SEBA.

Licensing

myPortal entry Web Services itself is not licensed.

For the operation of my Portal web users a "mobility entry" license is required within the telecommunication platform for each user. The use of the myPortal entry client is not licensed.

Release

myPortal entry Web Services is handled as a telecommunication platform feature and will not be released as own product.

First release done in combination with HiPath 500 V8R4.

Explanantion of some features in detail

Dialing Modes from Smartphone

Two different mechanisms for outgoing connections using the myPortal web are implemented.

  • Callback

This method should be used, if the costs for fixed network to mobile network connections are cheaper.

  • Callthrough

This should be the preferred mechanism, if the costs for mobile network to fixed network connections are cheaper
